Hoysala Estate - Kenyan Ruiru - Natural (Nanolot)

There are some beans money can buy and then there are those that are “exclusive” to us! There are very few coffees that we, at G-Shot Coffee Roastery, purchase year after year, without fail. This happens to be one of them. We tasted this coffee for the first time back in 2020 and we immediately knew we were on to something. Seeds of a Kenyan varietal (Ruiru) planted in the scenic Hoysala estate, Chikmagalur! A cross between Indian terroir and Kenyan genetics. Doesn’t that make you curious?
 
Working with Sunil, the man behind the success of Hoysala estate, was a charm form day one. Over the course of the last few years, we have carved an honest and supportive, almost family-like, relationship with him. He has been kind enough to reserve the whole plot where this particular varietal grows on his beautiful estate for G-Shot Coffee Roastery. We are fortunate enough to procure the whole lot processed in two different way – a fermented washed coffee microlot along with a nanolot of the same beans but dry-processed/naturals 
 
A lot of work is going into making this plot, and hence this coffee, CERTIFIED ORGANIC. The first step was to move away from using fertilizers and pesticide. This is the first year that we can confidently serve this coffee as completely “Chemical free”. We hope to serve you certified organic coffee from this plot over the coming years!
  
NATURAL:
Fast, fruit forward roast profile that works brilliantly for manual (especially immersion) brew methods as well as contemporary style espresso. Low-funk, high-clarity, balanced yet complex natural with cherry and dark chocolate popping – a rare (and exclusive!) find.
